Resumo: This work is aimed to reflect on the conceptions regarding to the representative art, such as the art of making movies and its relation with literature. The starting point of our discussion is based on a book named O testamento do Sr. Napumoceno, by Germano de Almeida, and the film O testamento do Sr. Napumoceno, by Francisco Manso. The process of adaptation, and the puzzling aspects kept in their natural conceptions we will also discuss the circumstances in which these pieces of work were written and the technique adopted by each one in order to achieve their artistic aims, and the relativization of time, and the possible alteration of time and space which can only be possible through the photograph and, specially, through the cinema. The aim of this work is to raise a discussion over the space created between the word the discourse produced by the narrator and the image a visual effect produced by the artist, which is strongly. Connected with the technique of accomplishment questioning the reaction of the contemporary men in face of many changes, and exposing their feelings anguish and satisfaction which are revealed through their own eyes.
