Resumo: Divided into two stages to this research presents an approach to evaluating the use of project management in academic management. The first step was performed an extensive literature review in the Scielo and ISI (Web Of Knowledge), in order to identify and use the most critical dimensions of project management in various sectors and in academic management. In the second step, in order to identify the dimensions that need to be treated differently in academic management to the criterion of six managers over graduation three years experience in the role, created a model based on the integration of the questionnaire method Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) on a scale of weighted sum based on the work of Likert order to obtain the collection of perceptions about the performance of the organization courses. As a result via the literature review were identified dimensions of human resources, time, risk, quality and cost as the most impactful in the implementation of project management. These dimensions were used in the analysis of academic management. Through the application of multicriteria analysis to the criterion of the managers interviewed were considered the dimensions time, human resources, and risk respectively, which should be treated differently in academic management
