Resumo: This study aimed to explore perspectives on the experiences of initial training experienced in particular by students of Proeja FIC, as well as by teachers and administrators. It has opted for the methodology of qualitative case study, with the IFES Campus São Mateus and the Municipal Education Secretary as the locus of research. The participants of the research were 11 students, 7 teachers and 3 administrators involved with the Program. In order to collect and product data were used: document analysis, participant observation and semi-structured interviews. In this movement, it sought as theoretical and methodological foundation authors who discuss about workers' skills, as Hobsbawm (2008) and Thompson (1981); Thompson (1981) and Schwartz (2010) for discussion of the experience, and authors of Labor and Education fields to discuss the Public Policy Professional Education in the country, such as: Frigotto , Ciavatta and Ramos, among others. As a result , it has that the experiences of the actors in Proeja FIC are indicative that the proposal was not honored completely, from the point of view of integration, as pointed out by teachers and students, by highlighting the lack of infrastructure, the distance between one school and another, among others. The lack of priority from Ifes to ensure the necessary conditions to the offer of the course and the absence of political commitment to continuing the program are also highlighted. It is also highlighted in the speech of subjects that the initial training experience in Ifes is seen as something that assures entry into the labor market, considering the changes that the productive arrangements have operated in job offerings in São Mateus. The presence of students with high school education is remarkable in the course and is viewed differently by the subjects. Teachers see it as opportunism in seeking qualification for entering the market, while some students consider it as a possibility to exchange learning. It appears that there were changes in the practices of teachers as a result of teaching experience the experiences of young adults and workers, contributing to the formation of a new professional, with a new attitude and new perspectives about their own experience. It is clear that the experience of Proeja FIC aroused the interest of students in pursuing education. Even without observing significant changes in the work that they exercise and its connection with the course completed, it is evident that there were significant changes in the students' perspective about the human formation, when they express a new look at yourself, at the technical and scientific knowledge they had access, and at its reality
