Resumo: | This research has a pourpouse to understand the formative processes which influence the constitution of the individuals concerning its know and do regarding the mediation at a science museum. As goals, the research exposes: i) Creating profiles of the mediators acting at Escola da Ciência – Física; ii) To analyse the daily routine of a science museum, including the professional Working in this place, as an attempt to identify the knows in the mediation mobilized in its actions; iii) To identify the actions of mediators and their relation to actions in the Escola da Ciência – Física. In order to pursue this objectives the case study was our methodological background, in which mediators act as volunteers confectioning reflexive field journal focused in observation and problematization of space quotidian, a round of conversations was assembled twice, so that alongside with the mediators we could narrate, speak and listen about the formative processes. The narratives were recorded in audio files and later on transcribed, and the photographic records were promoting the dialogue with the speeches and actions of the individuals. Seven mediators, as the research’s subject, attended the meeting. The research’s theoretical contribution stands for the formation of educators, through the work of Paulo Freire in dialogues (approximations and distances) alongside Maurice Tardif, Glória Queiróz, Martha Marandino, among others. We discuss theoretically about the human mediation at sciences’ centers and museums, the role of the mediator, their formation and knows. With the narratives, field journals and photographies at hands the data interpretation has suggested the elaborations of five categories: i) Mediators at Escola da Ciência – Física; ii) The non-professionalism problem; iii) Formative processes: the necessary knows fountain for mediation; iv) Transformation in the mediator’s being; and v) Different dos at a science museum. The research contribution portrait the non-professionalism of the museum educators, to whom we nominate mediators, because of the lack of well established academic formation, work conditions, among other factors, the data shows a extensive repertoire of formative processes taking place, purposeful of not, by the mediators in their activities. Finally we consider that a greater attention towards the formation in science museum is necessary, and future researches may be able to propose activities that elevate the role of mediators to professionals. |
