Resumo: | Due to the Zika virus outbreak in 2015, the numbers of birth cases of babies with microcephaly have increased sharply in the past two years. This research aims to identify and analyze the care networks that encompass mothers and health professionals before the diagnosis of Congenital Zika Syndrome in Vitória / ES. This is a qualitative research of analytical-descriptive design. The survey participants are women who were either diagnosed or suspected of having Zika Syndrome during pregnancy, and also health professionals who accompanied these women. Based on the understanding that a network of care is made up of strategic actors that interconnect themselves by arranging the forms of care, the Snowball Sampling technique was used for the group of professional health participants. The data collection was done by semi-structured interviews, and followed by a data analysis where the Thematic Content Analysis was used. The results are presented in the form of papers. For the analysis of the care network, the design of health networks of Mario Rovere was used as theoretical reference. The results point to the existence of a fragmented network of care guided by the logic of referrals based on specialized care. Due to the lack of knowledge in the clinical development of Congenital Zika Syndrome, in the health care scenario mothers infected with the virus experiencing feelings of stress in the face of disease uncertainty can be found, in contrast to health professionals who feel powerless. The results highlight the need to promote specialized training for health professionals to face the Zika virus infection and to create strategies for pregnant women and puerperal women to cope with the psychological repercussions of the diagnosis. |
