This work aimed to study the formation of political values of a group of progressive evangelicals from different states of Brazil based on indicators of life trajectories. The main thing about this work is that there are, as common portraits in biographies, elements that lean towards the perspectives of political progress or the left. It was also of interest in this work to contest the process of secularization and the formation of religious pluralism in Brazil, as well as to go through the formation of the Brazilian evangelical field and the genealogy of the different types of denominations that exist in the country. For this, semi-structured guided interviews were carried out. At the end of the research, from the biographical indicators common to the interlocutors, an ideal type of progressive or left-wing evangelical was built, being this the individual who had contact with poverty, conflicts, or disappointments in the religious community, connected with perspectives Critical theologians, he had experience with self-left political organizations and went through a process of racial or LGBTQIA+ identification, or had contact with movements of this nature. |
