Resumo: |
This work aims to evaluate the Cash Aid Program of the Student Assistance Policy of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará (PAE-IFCE), on the Maracanaú campus, regarding the fulfillment of the objectives of enabling the permanence and contributing to the success of students in their academic career, seeking, among other aspects, to grasp their meanings for the subjects to whom it is intended and for the professionals who operate it, hence why these segments will constitute the dynamic, pulsating basis of what is intended to be given to know with this academic endeavor. In order to achieve this objective, it was necessary to understand what public policies are, why and how they originate and, above all, how they are implemented. And, more particularly, to know the context of the formulation of student assistance and its relationship with higher education. The study has a qualitative approach and was preceded by extensive documentary research - legislation, ordinances, regulations, manuals - and bibliographic for constitution and consolidation of the theoretical framework that will enable the understanding of the social reality in which the policy under analysis is developed. For the empirical research, virtual questionnaires were sent to the participating groups, as well as interviews with four students, an administrative technician and two managers. The evaluative model chosen for this work is the evaluative research (SILVA, 2008), which comprises the evaluation of public policies in two dialogical perspectives, technique and politics. Among the results achieved, it was possible to identify the importance of the Pecunian Aid Program for the permanence of students in the institution, although the discussions revealed that the financial reasons are not the only ones that need to be worked out to avoid dropout. Regarding academic performance, however, it was not possible to establish a definitive connection, even though there are elements that indicate that receiving aid in cash may influence the performance of students. |
