Resumo: |
The present study aimed to analyze the probability of women occupying a management position in the banking sector and to verify the impact of the Women's Leadership Program on the occupation of a management position in a financial institution. To achieve these objectives, a sample was used, made available by the financial institution, containing socioeconomic information of employees in 2017 and 2022. From these data, two econometric models were estimated, namely: logit and Differences-in-Differences for binary choice dependent variable, following the method of Athey, Susan and Imbens, Guido W. (2006). In the first model, it was found that there was an increase in the probability of a woman assuming a management position, when comparing 2017 and 2022. Furthermore, it was observed that there was a reduction in the gender gap in this financial institution, whose inequality of opportunity to be a manager reduced from 0,13 p.p. in 2017 to 0,12 p.p. in 2022. The results of the Differences-in-Differences model, showed a positive and significant effect in 2022 for female employees who participated in the financial institution's Women's Leadership Program, where, the probability of these women taking a management position is about 15% higher than those who did not participate. |
