Resumo: |
This study intends to investigate how the reading practices experienced by children living in the Lagoa do Norte Settlement in the municipality of Nova Russas/Ceará are constituted. The reflections of this work focus on understanding the paths that are outlined so that the children of the settlement can appropriate the reading of words from the reading they do of the world and the interactions they establish with the people around them. This is a qualitative study which made use of interviews with the children, their families and community leaders, as well as observations of the various moments when reading took place. In order to achieve the proposed objective, the research was guided by the following problem: How is the relationship between the way childhood is constituted and the reading practices of the children of the Lagoa do Norte Settlement, Nova Russas/Ce? To answer this question, the study's main objective was to analyze how reading is constituted by childhood and how it is shaped by the different reading practices experienced in the context of a settlement. In order to investigate these aspects, I related the different social relationship networks that children make happen, the interactions they provoke and the social spaces they have available to access reading and move through the many stories that live on the same page. The ideas behind this work are based on the following authors: Ariès (2019), Arendt (2007), Elias (1998), Freire (2018), Lajolo (2001), Caldart (2000), Meireles (2001) Fernandes (2006), as well as the Federal Constitution of 1988 and the Statute of the Child and Adolescent, the documents of the Lagoa do Norte Association, among other authors and documents that deal with studies on childhood, reading practices, settlements and education in the countryside. In the course of the research, it was found that reading practices are built on the awareness that reading is not done alone, but is always constructed in relation to other people and in different situations. In this way, they create reading networks that reshape the meaning of what the symbolic value of reading represents. The results obtained allow us to affirm that the way of living childhood in this settlement is constructed in plural times, with a unique way of reading life around them. The studies have shown that reading, like hope, as Dom Fragoso said, "is a light that must always remain burning in people's consciences", guiding their steps on the long journey of human existence. |
