Resumo: The present work is a master's degree research on the analysis of metacognitive strategies aimed at the collective teaching of musical instruments (winds) in the context of basic schools. The objective of the research is to enhance the learning of students who play wind instruments, providing them with autonomy in their studies, solving problems and resolving difficulties, through the use of metacognitive strategies. The public analyzed in the research are high school students in the state of Ceará. The research is developed through dialogue and analysis of research already developed in the area on the definition of metacognition and its use in teaching musical instruments in metacognitive learning. Through the data analyzed in this research, we came to the conclusion that the formative process of instrumentalist students participating in high school is more present in those who play their instrument for longer, while those who play for less time demonstrate less development of metacognitive strategies in their studies.
