Mal-estar em tempos acelerados: performance, autonomia e sofrimento depressivo na contemporaneidade

Throughout the last two centuries, the fast and globalized technical and scientific development have fomented new possibilities for the materialization of the iluministic ideals of human emancipation, individuality and happiness. Specially the progress in the human dominion over its natural environment and the advance of human rationality which promotes, at the individual level, more autonomy and freedom. However, the current social dynamics is marked by the paradox between the techno-scientific development and the growing scarcity of time in the routine of the contemporary man. In the context of the today's consumption oriented technological society, in which desire itself is driven by the logic of the market, another paradox is observed: an intensification of the contemporary ill-beeing, branded by the imperative character of the ideals of performance, happiness and autonomy, demanded in all levels of human life, and the proeminent picture of the suffering and of the depressive state. In view of this, this work aims at pondering the relationship between the accelerated social dynamics, mediated by the new technologies and marked by the progressive instrumentalization of both thought and action, and the subjectivization processes which propel the current ways of psychic ill-beeing. Metodologicaly, this research is characterized by its theoretic-critical nature, bringing as the main element of the instrumentalization ideas the Coaching Dialetics - a dialetics which represents, and is marked by, the performatic ideals and which is in tune with the neoliberal thoughts. This is analyzed from the theoretical-methodological viewpoint of Critical Theory and PsychoAnalysis. As conclusions, it was observed that the social acceleration phenomena is streamed by the profusion of a series of technological devices, by the pulverization, with the help of the media, of the ideals of performance in all levels of human life and by the fomenting of a neoliberal political stage, marked by the idea of individual autonomy. This social structure points towards the development of an instrumentalization dialetics which ressonates, in terms of psychosocial issues, in the hegemonics of the pure rationalization of human activity and, as a final result, in psychopathological implications in terms of the instrumentalization of the approach to the psychic suffering
