Resumo: |
This research aimed to understand how young people from the Santa Filomena community, located in the Jangurussu neighborhood, in Fortaleza, carry out the process of occupying the public spaces of their community and city, thus, providing the development and discovery of a youth identity. The studies indicate the existence of a culture of youth resistance in the suburban neighborhoods (Diógenes, 2008), which was not different in the Santa Filomena community. Throughout the research, through the analysis of how the youth of this community use the public spaces of their neighborhood, it was possible to observe how they do to organize themselves as the project Menino de Deus. Specifically, it was possible to map some public policies that aimed at actions related to the youth, as well as to understand the processes of resistance of the youth in the community and, finally, to observe the relations existing between the young people and the public spaces of the community and the city. This paper was carried out with the methodological procedure of bibliographical surveys, as well as using methodological instruments such as interview and participant observation, characterizing a qualitative research. In terms of theoretical basis, the research includes the ideas of authors who helped to think about some categories, such as youth, youth identity, violence, periphery, resistance. Some of these authors are: Esteves and Abramovay (2009), Sposito and Carrano, Maricato (2013), Diógenes (2008), DaMatta (2011), among others. |
