Resumo: |
This research aims to carry out an evaluation of the National Student Assistance Program (PNAES) at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), Sobral campus. PNAES causes contemporary transformations in the Brazilian higher education policy, through measures aimed at democratizing access to this level of education and, as a strategy to ensure the conditions of permanence of the most needy students. This research is justified because we consider it important to have an investigation and a better understanding of the development of this program, whose main objective is to carry out guaranteeing actions to support undergraduate students who have proven socioeconomic vulnerability, so that it contributes to their permanence in the institution and that they conclude the respective courses in a timely manner, being that, we try to apprehend its meanings for the subjects to whom it is destined and for the professionals who operate it. Therefore, this qualitative research follows the methodological perspective of the in-depth evaluation of public policies and social programs recommended by Rodrigues (2008, 2011), in which bibliographic, documentary, direct and field observation techniques were used, through semi-structured research. -structured, which were submitted to content analysis. Among the results achieved, even in times of dismantling in public policies in the last governments, it was possible to identify the importance of the Program for the permanence and timely completion of students in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability in the institution. |
