Resumo: | In the field of reproduction of inequalities in the education system, higher education presentes itself as an evident point to unravel this situation. In tackling this problem, the quota policy is revealed as a major element for tackling with these inequalities and barriers of access to educational opportunities. However, the entry of quota students at the university, places emphasis on the clashes and relational and racial conflicts intensified and reproduced within the university, interpellating sometimes the merit, the academic excellence and the legitimacy of these students occupy a place in the institution. The purpose of this dissertation is to show the impacts of quota policy of the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) not just for quota students, but also to non-quota students. For this, besides doing a survey of the profile of quota students UFAL, we selected a sample of students of Law and Medicine courses and seek to know what they think about discrimination, quotas and quota students. The results show that the quota student is a differentiated student that facing greater difficulties in staying on institution because of looks and questions about his ability and validity of access and stay in the university through a reservation of vacancy policy. |
