Resumo: | The goal of this dissertation is to understand the profile of one of the outlying regions of the city of Maceió, through the phenomenon of articulation of popular sectors - regular employees, informal, illegal and irregular, low-income (up to 2.5 minimum wages) and its families - in the process of urbanization in a peripheral region of the Brazilian Northeast. A poor neighborhood of the capital of Alagoas, the Jacintinho, is building on the theoretical framework of Christaller and Corrêa, with the purpose of presenting the street market as a core of commerce and formation of these urban spaces. The engagement theory about how to capture the economic reality of existing shopping complexes in the peripheral regions provided the “popular economy” as a solution. This concept was formatted based in Santos, Dal Ri, and Muterle Tiriba. The result of this research is that the street market of Jacintinho neighborhood is a popular economic strategy of low-income segments that have little schooling, from the countryside and, mostly, its plants do not meet the normative regulatory frameworks (formal, legal and regular). This strategy, studied in the case of Jacintinho, is similar to other suburbs of Maceió. |
