Resumo: | During the decade of the years 2000 two Homeless Movements occupied empty urban spaces in Maceió, Alagoas. The families, with precarious housing conditions, organised themselves and made use of a building and five unoccupied plots as part of their tactics in their struggle to conquer the right to a place and a home. In this work we have sought to make a contextualised analysis of the forms of organisation and manifestation of these two rights demand movements, which by protesting in the urban setting revealed alternative rationalities to the model of urban management organised around the interests and projects of hegemonic actors. We understand that by valuing experiences of this sort in the context of hegemonic urbanisation versus contra-hegemonic urbanisation, we make possible a better understanding of the politico-spatial dispute surrounding the use of the city for housing purposes. To this end we use as methodological methods the analysis of the use of territory (SANTOS, 2000, et al.) and the cartography of action (RIBEIRO et al. 2001). |
