Resumo: | This research presents a proposal to approach financial mathematics in high school. Several surveys have shown that a large number of Brazilians are in debt and one of the factors that contribute to this is the lack of knowledge to deal with financial transactions. Despite being present in the school curriculum, the financial mathematics seen at school is not enough, examples unlikely in everyday life and the distance from the terms linked to the financial market contribute for that. Based on this, this work aims to approach financial mathematics in a more intuitive, from examples and problem situations that students will encounter in their lives. First, activities will be proposed in order to fill gaps related to individual and family financial planning. Then, in order to attract students some initial problems will be presented aiming to introduce the basic financial mathematics concepts, such as simple and compound interest, in addition to amortization systems. Finally, it will be presented some types of investments that aim to emphasize the importance of saving and investing. |
