Resumo: This study addresses the potential of video analysis through the Software Tracker in order to emphasize the importance of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDIC) for teaching Physics. The main objective of the study is to investigate how didactic potentialities of using video analysis to teach the phenomenon of falling objects, in the vertical direction on the effect of gravity, in High School Physics classes, through the Software Tracker. The following objectives were outlined: to explore the potential of the Tracker; and analyze pedagogical strategies, using a video analysis, that approximate the ways of doing Sciences of analysis of natural phenomena. Starting from this scope, we tried to answer the following research problem: what emerges from the possibilities of using Tracker software in the study of physical phenomena, in particular from the fall? For the performance of the research, some instruments were included: compensation for observation (in order to observe the interaction between students); experimental data collection form; questionnaire and bibliographic research. In order to answer the research problem and achieve the objectives set, a teaching proposal should be developed with four classes from the 1st year of a public school in Palmeira dos Índios in the State of Alagoas. In these classes, it is directly observed how interactions with the Tracker software and their performance in classroom activities, using a video analysis to record involving the concept of falling. The data collected, through the systematization questionnaires as a means of evaluating the intervention by the students, were treated through a Textual Discourse Analysis (DTA) in three categories emerging from the research: 1st) Students' perception of physical concepts; 2nd) The potential of the Tracker software; and 3rd) Difficulties faced by students during the didactic intervention. The potential offered by the Tracker in promoting detailed movement analysis, more accurate data collection and analysis, and the use of essentials in experimental practice such as calibration tape as a reference standard, coordinate axis, center of mass, factors that influence the data uncertainty, as well as recording data in graphs and tables.
