Resumo: The presente paper seeks to describe socioenvironmental and territorial conflitcs in the coastal zone of São Luís-Ma, experienced by six communities of fishermen (Bacanga, Boqueirão, Camboa dos Frades, Cajueiro, Fe em Deus e Taim) the impacts generated by large enterprises in their fishing territories. Specifically addressing the Community of Cajueiro, which has been fighting since 2014, against the company WPR São Luís Management of Ports and Terminals, which intends to install a port terminal in its territory. Ther survey was conducted during the period from July 2016 to August 2017 and was attended by 21 fishermens. In addition to the analysis of meetings, mini-courses of OIT, public hearing and the follow-up of the “Cartography of Cartography” Project, which was fundamental to understande the conflict and to relate them to the other communities studied here. I sought the dialogue with this group, better unders and expose their yeamings and problems, through their speeches. Aiming at how the collective identity was constituted and how the mobilizations are forming the process of resistance of the community. Finally, I describe the way of life, fishing tools, traditional knowledge and techiniques developed over generations, transmitted from orality and observation of everyday life, understanding its importance in contributing to actions of struggle and resistance undertaken and as a form of self-affirmation as a fishing community.
