Resumo: | The recent years has been characterised by a series of social, cultural, economic and structural transformations at society and organizations, that require these greater flexibility and adherence to a network or logic of integration. To achieve that restructuring, the information becomes an important resource and, consequently, technology and information systems, streamlining processes strength, improving operational efficiencies and enabling innovation and value generation. Universities are undergoing transformations and stage of growth in recent decades, requiring structural and functional changes, and public institutions that have characteristics, predominantly, bureaucratics make modern practices membership information management strategic and institutional purposes. Parallel to this situation, a strengthening of institutional evaluation purpose regulated currently by SINAES, to promote the self-knowledge and it provides information for improving organizational. However, this management requires a new attitude in the treatment of information. The Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM) went through a period of expansion and public institution characteristics faces difficulties to improve the management of information for evaluation purposes; but in UEM a model of software for professor information management - G-Info - that has a modern proposal information management, based on the integration of the existing databases and specific focus on professor activities. In this context, the present study aims to understand what are the possible relationships between this model of professor information management - G-info- and the institutional evaluation process of UEM. For this theoretical benchmarks were used on information management, evaluation system of higher education and public management in higher education. With regard to methodological research design is characterized as a qualitative, descriptiveexploratory, developed through a case study - UEM. Collecting data for secondary documents and semi structures interviews, whose subjects have been selected by the analysis of their function in the institution, considering the proposed objective. For the analysis of data used the content analysis techniques for categorization. The main findings are reflected in the professor information management and currently precarious and with disabilities, particularly in technological infrastructure and information management process. These failures are burdened in information and quality problems in their use for evaluation and management. The G-info, jointly with the analysis of the interviewees noted that structural characteristics as the proposal can help with the institutional assessment process, not only procedural in character, making information more agile, but guaranteeing continuous character of the assessment. Although have limitations due to the current state of the information management, this information management model presents contributions to better management of institutional assessment information, assisting them to achieve its objective of promoting the self-knowledge and strategic management of informationbased institution. |
