Resumo: This thesis analyzes the appropriations that authors of contemporary Brazilian literature make on the works of Caio Fernando Abreu (1948-1996). The delimited corpus includes 14 works of writers Adriana Lunardi, Allex Leilla, Arturo Gouveia João Batista Ferreira, José Valdemar de Oliveira, Lucia Facco, Mirisola Marcelo, Marcelo Moutinho, Pedro Stiehl, Ramon Mello and Wil Cabral. Starting from Pierre Bourdieu's propositions about literary field (1970, 1992, 1994), we hypothesized that the work done by those new storytellers using fragments, bits and symbols of Abreu's work corroborates the author's establishment as a figurehead for this particular group of writers, considered applicants facing the Brazilian literary field, and at the same time, serves to their own insertion in this field. The proposed analytical course discusses the independence of the Brazilian literary field, the solidification of its institutions and the inclusion of Abreu, as young writer, in this scenario and finding out the symbolic value available to the precursor in face of the field. Academic sphere and social networks were the circulation environments studied to get to an exact notion of the symbolic value acquired by the work and the figure of Caio Fernando Abreu. Finally, we verify the performance of each one of the applicant authors as related to the precursor's work, categorizing the ways of appropriation they made to the work of Caio Fernando Abreu by proposing spaces of intercommunicating symbolic actions, which were named as follows: Writing in the spaces of possible; Spaces of the referential; Spaces of the reading; Spaces for distinction and detachment, in which gain volume distinct symbolic negotiations with the legacy of Abreu. The investigation of the hypothesis of work through the analysis of the works of the applicants, led to the conclusion that the objectivations performed by the applicants expanded the symbolic legacy of the precursor, founding around him a subfield of literary circulation of works, while ensuring effective connections to the applicants in the national literary field, from which they are seeking earn symbolic profit for their works.
