The aim of this work is to analyze the Nobility Revolt of 1272 and 1273 in the reign of Alfonso X, the Wise (1252-1284). As the main source was the Chronicle of Alfonso X, elaborated in the year of 1344. It reunites the letters exchanged during the process of negotiation between the king and the rebellious nobles. Herein, it is presented an analysis of the strengthening of the Castilian monarchy in the thirteenth century and its clash with the nobility. This confrontation occurred mainly due to the application of the Fuero Real, a legal code intended to limit the privileges of the nobility in favor of the centralization of the monarch's power. Other documentary contributions for the present work are the legal codes of Castile in force in the thirteenth century, namely, Fuero Viejo de Castilla and Fuero Real. The study of the sources in the light of the historiography related to the reign of Alfonso X, the thirteenth-century Castilian-Leonese nobility, as well as the strengthening of royal power allowed to understand the dynamics of the nobility revolt and the monarch's actions as events were held.
