Mediação em museus de ciências: reflexões sobre possibilidades da educação museal

Resumo: This work was guided by the overall objective of knowing, from the narratives of the professionals of museum education, the conceptions of museum, education and science that guide the processes of human mediation in the Microbiology Museum of the Butantan Institute, linked to the Butantan Institute of Public Health and located in the city of São Paulo and the Museum of Science and Technology Antares, linked to the State University of Feira de Santana and located in the same city. This is a qualitative research that included empirical-analytical material obtained from semi-structured interviews conducted with eleven subjects, managers in education and mediators / educators, working in the above mentioned museums. From the narratives of these subjects it was possible to establish relations between the educational activities of the surveyed areas and proposed principles for museum education expressed in the Charter of Belém, a document drawn up collectively by professionals of museum education at the First National Meeting of the National Museum Education Program Wich took place during 6th National Forum os Museums, in November 2014, in the city of Belém do Pará. This work seeks to reflect on existing possibilities of museum education and highlight the need to strengthen this field that we recognize as being in conformance.
