Resumo: |
The thesis consists in analyzing the comicbook series The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller, released in 1986 by the "DC Comics” publisher, in the United States. Thus, we discuss issues as the art statute in contemporary and the relation that it maintains with comic books. The analyzes links several discourses that are present in the work, examining the author's intellectual formation, the estheticusedand the characters, understanding that in all these moments the social and political criticis more or less explicit. Therefore,it is possible to understand how the comic books has earned repercussion and recognitionas a work of art, and has become a world reference for adult comics. The criticism made on President Reagan's policy, to the conservatism and neo-liberal practices, are present not only in the thematic of the story, but also in its entire esthetic construction. The Dark Night Returns subverts the logic, originating a new model of writing which would influence much of the comics’ production in the next decade. |
