This dissertation aims to address the theme narrative detectives of the 21st century in the novels produced by two contemporary writers of different nationalities and cultures. The narrative forms of an anti-writing to the traditional police novel, that is, the transgression. It was intended to focus the paths followed by such authors in the structures of their narratives with nuances of detective process, being that the transgression is analyzed in the introspective character. According to Todorov (1979), the traditional, and introspection, a third form of detective tonic that can be observed in contemporary novels can be considered from the diluted memories, the displacements and to fragmentation of individuals. Thus, we focus on this work in two Portuguese-language works of the XXI century: Bernardo Carvalho Nove Noites (2002) and Ruy Duarte de Carvalho Os papéis do inglês (2000). The research was guided by the idea that the investigators' object of investigation into the crimes and suicides presented in the plot establishes further investigations into contemporary societies with scenarios of wars, about communities on the margins and their resistances. And in this complex process of investigations that present the introspections, the reader is invited to participate in the detective process on the plot that mixes documentary with fictional and provoke reflection on the role of the Other, representatives of indigenous and pastoral villages |
