Resumo: The Psychological Duty (PD) is a modality of psychological practice that arosed in 1969 at the University of São Paulo (USP), based on Psychological Counseling, constituting as a service with the aim of reducing the queues in the Psychological Counseling Service (PCS), from the Institute of Psychology of the University of São Paulo (IPUSP). This research aims to understand the clinical action of psychologists in the Psychological Duty in institutions from existential phenomenological assumptions. Specifically: To introduce the historical and epistemological path of the Psychological Duty; Problematize the singularities of the ways of doing the Psychological Duty and Understand the possibilities of Psychological Duty in Institutions. In an attempt to understand the guiding question: “How is it for you to be an psychologist on duty / Supervisor of the Psychological Duty in the Legal Department (LD) / Psychological Duty Care Project (DCP) / University Hospital (UH) / Residential Complex of the University of São Paulo (RCUSP)?”, The assumptions of hermeneutic phenomenology, contributed to the thematization of Clinical Action and Psychological Duty in institutions. Five psychologists on duty and / or field supervisors who had more than two years of experience in this type of psychological practice, participated of this research. Narrative interviews were realized, recorded and transcribed; the researcher wrote field diaries and clinical cartography. As a way to access the analysis of narrative interviews, “Movement of Realization” was used as method of unveiling, revelation, testimony, veracity and authentication (Critelli, 1996) and the “Central Constellations” of meaning inspired by Heloisa Szymanski (2018). The daily passage in institutions came up with resonances in the dialogical relationship of the meeting of being a psychologist on duty / supervisor with clients in P.D. The P.D in institutions proved to be a possibility of comprehensive appropriation of the clinical event. The path of research as a lived journey unveils the clinical action of birth from the experience of being on duty, as a living narrative. The narrative, whether spoken or written, presented resonances of the thematization of the elaboration of the experience in individual, group or home care. Pointing the way to be careful in the meeting, as a way of accessing the singular plurality of being an psychologist on duty / supervisor in institutions.
