This paper , presented in the form of four articles , aimed to discuss the practice of counseling on HIV / AIDS held in Counseling and Testing Centers STD / AIDS ( CTA ) . Grounded research , theoretical and methodological frameworks aligned with efforts to build knowledge-emancipation . The reality is conceived as complex , dynamic and open game marked by contending forces whose vectors that constitute the report on tensions , conflicts and specific arrangements between them . Was approached, in research , two aspects of the counseling work , among many , subjective processes surrounding AIDS and intervention , ie , modes of counseling . Composed the research, analysis manuals Ministry of Health (MOH ) for counseling practice and analysis of interviews with advisers / units acting in the CTA of Pernambuco . It follows that advice deserves to be treated as a device and not merely as a technical work , as it involves many aspects in your configuration , including , speeches , scientific statements , regulations , moral precepts , architectural structures . According to research, the advice has performed as a control device bodies , as supported in the design of subjectivity - identity , defined by the subject's sexual practices and policies and prescriptive recommendations to the counselor , featuring how - statement advise . Another perspective that subtly appears in the analyzes , as a power that can be invested , is that counseling is a means of empowerment of individuals and communities . It is characterized by the concept of citizen - subjectivity in which the subject is active participant of the issues around health as a right and the so - counsel relationship , marked by horizontal and democratic credentials in the professional- user. The two stages of research subsidized the debate on the formation of advisors / as . From an analytical form of counseling as health work , which in capitalist society coexists with strong contradictions , such as the possibility of health to be treated as a commodity , propositions are presented for the training of counselors on HIV / AIDS , in the direction of an emancipatory perspective of individuals and communities . For Psychology fits assume the task of participating in the power game in question , looking strategic approach their formulations productive debates on human rights and sexual rights in the field of AIDS .
