Resumo: | Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is one of the most common complications of pregnancy, being considered a public health problem due to the high rates of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality and it remains a challenge to scientific community. High qualified and resolute care prenatal can contribute to reduce rates significantly and promote safe motherhood. The purpose of this work was elaborated and validated the knowledge, attitudes and practices of primary care physicians and nurses in relation to the care of women with GDM. It is a study of the elaboration and validation of a questionnaire for Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (CAP) studies. An instrument was used as a self-administered questionnaire containing open and closed questions. Participants who perform prenatal care in primary care were randomly chosen from the municipalities belonging to the Alta Mogiana and Alta Anhanguera colleges of the Regional Health Department VIII of the city of Franca / SP. Six phisicians and six nurses took part in the study. In the knowledge section, participants identified that there were questions with more than one possible answer about the diagnosis of diabetes in pregnancy. To cover the points of interest in this research, participants pointed out the need to add questions about prenatal care, growth assessment and fetal well-being. The indexes of correct answers in the Knowledge section and the indexes of positivity in the answers in the Attitudes and Practices sections were high, contributing to ensure that the questions of the CAP questionnaire were coherent with the object of this research. It was concluded that the validation process allowed the elaboration of a CAP questionnaire validated as an adequate instrument for future studies. |
