Resumo: |
This study seeks to investigate the role of corrective feedback provided by the teacher and classmates to texts written by students of English as a second language in a private languages course. The main goals of the study were to investigate the impact of corrective feedback over the development of students written skills; evaluate if the fact of providing feedback to the classmates' texts would help students improve their textual productions and, finally, analyze which group of students would present better results on their subsequent texts, if those who just received feedback or those who received and provided corrective feedback. General results show that all students who analyzed feedback presented a positive development on their subsequent writings. On the other hand, those students that neither analyzed feedback nor rewrote their texts did not present development as much as the others. Although providing feedback may have helped students improve their written skills, further studies are necessary to better verify this hypothesis. |
