Resumo: The present research proposes an analysis of the discursive construction on the image of the prison guard in Rio Grande do Sul (RS), analyzing the construction of the meanings of the discourses published on websites that evidence the voices of the Superintendence of Penitentiary Services (SUSEPE); of the Association of Penitentiary Agents, Monitors and Auxiliaries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (AMAPERGS) and the Zero Hora newspaper (ClicZH), from the perspective of dialogic theory. To this end, the work intends to identify socio-ideological voices that constitute such discourses through the intonation that composes the utterances; recognize the discursive heterogeneity in the construction of meaning, realizing how these elements intertwine in the construction of meanings in these informative media discourses. For the analysis of information discourses published on websites, it is necessary to address the issue of media, considering that it is an information support in which the language is not faithful to the real world, but it is about the construction of a vision of world, whether by economic, symbolic or technological logic. Considering the theoretical approach of this research, language is understood as a social phenomenon of verbal interaction, so that the relationship between subjects is constituted through intersubjectivity. This is because a discourse represents a response to another discourse, establishing an interrelationship between dialogues that build relationships of meaning. The research corpus was based on the selection of informative speeches published on SUSEPE's websites, which represents the voice of the governmental institution; AMAPERGS, which represents the voice of the prison guards union; and ClicRBS/Gaúcha ZH, which represents the voice of the written press of Jornal Zero Hora. Such speeches present news about the approval of PEC 372/17 that establishes the Criminal Police in Brazil. On December 5, 2019, Constitutional Amendment No. 104 was published in the Federal Official Gazette, creating the federal, state and Federal District criminal polices, transforming the staff of penitentiary agents into criminal police officers. With this, both isolated positions or career positions of agents or equivalent are now occupied through public tender, making the new police linked to public penal administration bodies. This resolution is the result of a struggle of more than 15 years of security servers working in the prison system. The analysis of the corpus is configured in the survey and in the relationship between the linguistic elements that mark the said and the unsaid and the extraverbal elements, seeking to identify and analyze the intertwining of voices present in the discourse, in a dialogic perspective. In view of the above, it is believed that it is possible to recognize that there is a look beyond the bars on the image of the prison security professional in RS, whose vision takes place in the clash of socio-ideological voices that constitute the informative media discourses in question, marked by the valuation of the speaker who, by no means, has a neutral speech.
