Resumo: This thesis aims to understand how the child experiences the communicational process in the dynamics of Bad News Communication in the context of Health. The term, used in the private context of clinical care in Health, names any information transmitted to the patient or his family that implies, directly or indirectly, some negative change in their lives, whether due to a diagnosis of serious illness, or even the death of that individual (BUCKMANN, 1992; LINO et al., 2011). In this sense, looking at the child in this care scenario triggers the premises by Sociology of Childhood to observe the child as a social subject (SIROTA, 2001). The methodology, with a qualitative focus, will be carried out remotely, by teleconference, due to the social distance during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The methodological techniques followed two phases: a) Individual in-depth interviews with family members, to identify the profile of the participating child on your care trajectory; b) Focal group with children. The results show that the child's experience with the bad news is revealed to be a complex dynamic that involves several contexts of interaction, involving the family and health professionals. Although the child is not communicated directly, he/she perceives the movements that change his/her expectation of care. We perceive, in this process, how the form is more relevant than the content of message communicated at bad news, even of death, even the symbolic one. The reports point to the preference for a dialogue that welcomes their pain and offers confidence to the child about the choices that are being made to mitigate the suffering.
