Resumo: The present work is based on the observation that the human being is uprooted from the world. There is an emptying of the meaning of things and a growing sense of their temporary existence. It is taken for granted that truth as an element of scientific and philosophical stability is put down with the end of metaphysics. In this way, Arendt's methodological matrix of investigation, phenomenology, is contextualized in order to understand the way in which she elaborates her political-philosophical thought. Then the dissertation seeks to explain the political action in contemporary times. It is evident that political action takes place from the construction of images, the manipulation of public opinion and the sophisticated use of rhetoric. These are provoking factors for the lack of definition of directions in current democracies and for confusion in the establishment of truth parameters that guide citizens. The dissertative path leads to the realization that the forged realities, the lack of meaning, the lie as a method are the result of the process of human atomization; manufactured in mass society and exacerbated by totalitarism. The way in which Arendt approaches the theme of loneliness and how it correlates with the manipulation of the masses stands out. It clarifies how loneliness and human uprooting are the disease of the present times and how human beings lose their sense of plurality and the ability to think the more alone they find themselves. Finally, it seeks to clarify how the massification of relations, the power of political propaganda and the production of fanaticism as a consequence of the use of force and resources of the totalitarian political system happens
