Resumo: This study aimed to reflect on migration politics in France and Brazil, the main international agreements and influences on migration politics and the development of public politics for immigrants and thus understand international mobility, as a sociohistorical process, with particularities In the capitalist society, globalized, thus the phenomenon of globalization has among its main characteristics the vast immigration process and the accentuation of economic and social inequalities in the world, thus an approximation between Brazil and France was sought.To analyze the work of social workers in assisting immigrants and refugees in the city of São Paulo in different sociooccupational spaces, thus seeking to understand the main challenges and difficulties faced by professionals in relation to migratory policies, public policies to assist refugees and immigrants, also during the covid-19 pandemic and thus discuss the access of immigrants and refugees to social assistance services and public policies. For the development of the work, qualitative research and oral history were used, allowing the researcher to get closer to the interviewee and the challenges of the social worker in everyday life
