The present work investigates the politics of gender and sexuality and its consequences in the Brazilian educational policy. From bibliographic research and documentary analysis, the study aimed, at first, to go through the wave of mobilization against the “gender ideology” in the world and to analyze the episcopal documents of the Roman Curia on the subject and, in a second moment, to verify the moral and liberal forces involved in the bills related to the School without Party Program. The anti-gender propositions presented in the City Councils of the 15 most populous cities in the State of São Paulo were studied. The time frame of the work was limited to the period between 2010, the beginning of anti-gender mobilizations in the world, to 2020, the year in which the trials started in plenary, by the STF ministers, on the debate on gender and sexual diversity in the school environment. The research observed that the activation of the family was a driving element to curtail the gender debate in schools and to strengthen and perpetuate neoliberal politics. It concluded that the School without Party Movement used the discourse of freedom to promote authoritarianism and the removal of democratic values and principles, with the aim of gradually scrapping the public school system and curbing the progress in the process of secularization of the state's culture and secularism |
