Resumo: |
This research thematizes the intervention of media powers in the constitution and representation of the social roles of military police and the Brazilian society, in discourses that interact with interlocutors and in their actions by promoting fear and social indignation. Methodologically, it is structured on a qualitative approach with a theoretical-analytical procedure selected from the theoretical models related to the Social Theory of Discourse - TD - , (FAIRCLOUGH, 1992 to 2006); the Theory of Speech Acts – TSA – (AUSTIN, 1962; SEARLE, 2002); the Social Media Theory – SMT -, (THOMPSON, 1998; CHARAUDEAU, 2016); to Sociosemiotics (KRESS; VAN LEWVEEN, 1996) and to the Cognitive Model of Discourse Processing (DIJK, 1990, 2008, 2012). The hypothesis is based on the existence of a confrontation between the media, via the restructuring of symbolic and economic power in the condition of media conglomerates, society and the Military Police in relation to the role played by this institution as a promoter of Oorder and public security. The general objective is to contribute to the studies of Critical Discourse Analysis in understanding how the ideology of power has access to the public, in the construction of social prejudices. Specifically, it aims to: verify the categories that constitute sensationalism and news; to scrutinize the intentions of the interlocutor-producer towards the interlocutor-reader-viewer of the news, either to promote fear or to promote the indignation of the target audience; identify and analyze media strategies as an instrument for propagating the ideology of power. This research is justified because every institutional discourse has the power to permeate different social strata in order to build public opinion and influence social groups in the constitution and mental representation involved by the power ideology and, thus, dominate people's minds by daily semantic and linguistic repetition of the media. As a result, we analyze that the media's intervention in the constitution of the representation of the social role of the military police has as strategies: the use of economic, politic and symbolic powers in the elaboration of news discourses through semantic choices that propagate the ideology of power; the reinforcement of the confrontation historically existing since the imperial period between the Military Police and Brazilian social groups, due to the interpretations given to the facts in the journalistic reports, above all, marked nowadays, by the videos caught as evidence of illicit atitudes and by the emptying of the unusual category in the constitution of the fact into a news fact |
