Resumo: This research aims to accomplish a comparative analysis of the learning among the students in the primary school, in the modality substitution teleclassroom, with the use of new technologies, and in the presential teaching, through empirical research. The theoretical reference was the Critical Theory of Society, from Theodor W. Adorno s theoretical production, which brought reflections on the use of television and David Ausubel's Theory of Significant Learning. The research was accomplished in two schools: one with presential teaching and the other with distant teaching (teleclassrooms). We applied two tests Portuguese Language and Mathematics. We also applied a questionnaire with ten questions that identified the learners profile from both groups. Our main hypothesis was that the learning of the students from the teleclassrooms would be lower than the students in the presential teaching. Such hypothesis was confirmed after empirical research, which also demonstrated the low performance of the students in both presential and distant substitution courses
