Resumo: |
The present paper focuses on the analysis of the relationship between the struggle for national self-determination of the Palestinian people and the overall trend towards capitalist expansion. To do so, the research goes through three main steps. The first is focused on examining the concepts of nation, nationalism, imperialism and the transnationalization of capitalism in its complex relations, in order to delimit the theoretical assumptions used. Then a historical survey of the conflict was made from the British mandate, through the creation of the State of Israel and reaching the Oslo accords. Finally, we examined the changes that have occurred in the 21st century: the construction of the Apartheid wall, the growing use of the notion of terrorism in political analysis and practice, the interplay of interests in the Middle East region and their implications at the international / global level |
