Resumo: This thesis stands in the intersection between psychoanalysis and art, in this case, more specifically, music, the samba de partido-alto. Following the steps of Freud and Lacan we grasp that it is the realm of arts which is in a position to contribute with psychoanalysis and not the other way round. Artistic practices hold, in their beauty, an understanding about the subject which precedes theorizations and suggests an unexpected direction, bringing other perspectives to the social contexts. When composing the improvisation verse in the circle of partido-alto the subject lives an unique experience in his relationship with the Other, since he has to accomplish an instant creation, in act: a verse within the timing, converging with melody and poetically rhymed, an endeavor in which the subject might be successful or not, once the improvised verse includes ― inexorably ― the dimension of risk. This research seeks to investigate if the practice of samba de partido-alto ― as musicality of the contemporary Afro-Atlantic diaspora, with characteristics such as the improvisation verse, the samba performed in a circle and the predominance of oral culture ― provides the subject with a conjuncture in which he will be able to apply a know-how with the real, which in its turn will enable the occurrence of sublimation and his insertion in the social bond
