Resumo: This research aims to understand, starting from Jesus, the meaning of the human being from the point of view of the relationship between Christology and anthropology in the thought of the Belgian theologian Adolphe Gesché. The premise of this enterprise is the hypothesis that Jesus, besides coming into the world to proclaim God, also came to proclaim the human being, which makes possible perspectives of revelation of the human being, considering his humanity (existence, incarnation) and aspects of his theological figure (title son of God, resurrection). For this, it will be presented how the author conceives the relationship between theology and anthropology (chapter 1) and between Christology and anthropology, where the research will focus on aspects of the theological figure of Christ that allow us to conceive him as the revealer of the human (chapter 2). Then, focusing on the author's anthropological understanding, some places of the revelation of the human will be worked out (chapter 3). Such a study of the human in a Christological perspective results in a rescue of the relevant place of theology in the discourse on man alongside other sciences and implies a pastoral and evangelizing praxis that is able to promote a real process of humanization
