Resumo: |
The object of the present study is the political dimension of the professional work of social workers in the context of Brazilian Social Service, contemporary and guided by the current ethical-political project, who work with the housing movement Associação por Habitação com Dignidade (AHD), in programs of Social Interest Housing (HIS), more specifically, in the Minha Casa Minha Vida - Entidades program (PMCMV-E). AHD is one of the actors present in the historical context of the struggle for housing in the city of São Paulo. Among its battle flags are urban reform, the right to the city and self-management in housing production, through popular participation, and the organization and protagonism of workers in the fight for rights and social changes, defending the recognition and expansion of social work in HIS in Housing Policy. It also defends the possibility of working with professionals who share the worldview in favor of workers. The work of Social Service professionals is carried out through Assessoria Ambiente Arquitetura, a partner of the Movement. Social Service has an eminently political role, and its trajectory is linked to the power struggle between social classes. We argue here that, like all social activities, professional actions are permeated by a political dimension. The objective of this study is to place a magnifying glass on the professional strategies used in the daily work of social workers in this concrete experience, with a view to bringing us closer to the possible political consequences of this work and thus reflecting on the power of conscious and intentional professional work. The hypothesis is that the political dimension of social workers' work is related to a future project - pre-idealized by professionals - in which professional actions are interested. The research methodology was based on a critical perspective and studies of historical and dialectical materialism, involving scientific procedures: bibliographical research, documentary research, spaces and qualitative research with families participating in the AHD housing movement in the Alexios Jafet Project. It also comprises the procedures, observation in the researcher's professional and academic insertion spaces and photographic records. The results of the study identified that when professional work is guided by the hegemonic professional ethical-political project, the political dimension of professional work can contribute to the processes of confronting the ordering of capital through the strengthening of counter-hegemonic values, thoughts and positions |
