Resumo: This paper aims to learn and understand how the relationship between school and family occurs, focusing the private schools and their pedagogic leader. It intended to know and identify the strategies that schools use about the family of the Elementary school children. Five private schools made part of the researches. It was developed some interviews with each school leader. The results elucidated that most of the parents make a union with school. In cases, where the union doesn t occur it was observed the absence of parents, in general, parent meeting, individual meeting and other activities. Schools aim to open up some activities. These ones could promote parent participation and their involvement with the school world and its social projects
