Resumo: This mastering paper has analyzed the behavior of the four main runners for the Presidential elections from 2010 through Twitter, Dilma Rousseff (PT), José Serra (PSDB), Marina Silva (ex-PV) and Plínio de Arruda Sampaio (PSOL), aiming at the understanding of their images via this tool and between candidates and electors provided by it. Considering the increasingly broadening of the internet among Brazilians and the successful experiences in campaigns and online follow-up in other countries, the purpose of this study has been investigating the current usage of internet in the electing campaigns, as well as in Brazilian politics in general. The understanding of this new space for debate which grows stronger was the aim, besides stating whether internet stimulates a more active participation from citizens in the representative democracies, nourishing the political debate, and bringing the elector and the candidate closer one from the other, increasing the citizens´ political culture, or whether it operates as the rest of the mass media bond to the logic of entertainment. Taking politics as the conflict zone between rationality and subjectivity, also the settings of the research target, this study has used a bibliography that understood this double facet from politics and quantitative/qualitative methodology resources, as the aesthetical analysis, the content analysis, the quantifying of profiles and secondary sources information interactivity refereeing to the performance of the profiles in the microblog, acquired by Tweetsats, and the candidates performance in the election run, based on TSE researches, from Ibope Institute, Datafolha Institute and VoxPopuli Institute
