Rudolf Hilferding's book “Finance Capital” released in 1910 which was once considered an “additional chapter of Marx's“ Capital ”. However, despite his relevance, this author was not considered by a good part of economists, both inside and outside his original Marxist sphere. But, not because of theoretical flaws, but because of dichotomies related to political positions. Thus, The main objective of this work is to resume Hilferding's book as a scientific contribution by updating the main categories developed by this author for the current context of globalization of capital and its respective financial prominence. Thus, taking the speech of authors such as Mauricio Sabadinni (2012; 2013), Arturo Guillén (2011a; 2011b and 2014) and Chesnais (2016) we start from the hypothesis that the concepts of Finance Capital, Promoter Profit, Differential Profit and Export of Capital, were not explored in all their explanatory capacity and, therefore, deserve to be examined in greater depth, in order to recover Hilferding's relevance as a seminal author for the contemporary capitalism dynamics. Therefore, with this aim in mind, the present study uses a qualitative approach to Hilferding's thinking based on the content analysis methodology, which takes the aforementioned categories as a theoretical / conceptual framework, as well as the authors who resume these concepts. in dealing with the actuality of the capitalist system. For this purpose, this investigation takes place in two moments, firstly, through an argumentative exposition of the main concepts of Hilferding, in order to outline the theoretical framework in which the research is structured. In the second moment, it was demonstrated how the capitalist system acquired the financial prominence seen today, in order to show how Hilferding's thought, developed in the early 20th century, can help in the interpretation of the current stage of the globalization of capital from of its most prominent categories |
