Understanding Phylogenetic History, Adaptive Value, Ontogenesis and Immediate Cause collaborated to identify the processes of interaction between biology and culture that shaped religion and schizophrenia. This study proposed to discuss the behavior of hearing voices, a phenomenon considered a symptom when present in schizophrenia and considered a transcendental event in healthy religious experiences of Kardecist spiritists.
