Resumo: The purpose of this work is to present a teachers formation program, which has formed and enabled child care workers at child care centers as demanded by educational law of directives (LDB) 9.394/96. High school formation, followed by teacher training course was taken into account in this study. This dissertation analyzed the development of the undergraduate curriculum of preschool teachers and suggested indicative elements for an innovative curriculum of initial formation of teachers at undergraduate level, contributing to formation curricula. The theoretical references that underlie the project were supported in the conception of the practical rationality, considering Schön one of the authors that treated the concept of reflection of teaching situations, based on Zeichner, who named it reflexive practice, and Claxton, who speaks of innovative projects. Canário contributed to the strategy called school-centered formation and, Nóvoa, to construction of a professional identity coming from people s experiences. In the conception of innovative projects in Brazil, ideas from Feldmann, Luckesi, Masetto and Mizukami were put forward. The Methodological procedure was based on the qualitative research; the descriptive, explicative, analytical, interpretative study was used from the theoretical background with characteristics of exploratory research
