This research analyzes how the government of Bolsonaro and also his ideology, "bolsonarism," have influenced not only the practice of journalism, but mainly, the work of women journalists. It is an attempt to understand how his aggressive behavior contributed to making them targets of mental and physical injuries, perpetrated by Bolsonaro’s radical supporters. This work also aims to situate the Bolsonaro government within the worldwide context of right-wing extremism in countries like the U.S., Hungary, and Turkey. This work measures the impact of fake news as a tool of this destructive mechanism. Mainly, this work understands the day-to-day challenges of women in journalism in Brazil under the Bolsonaro administration (2018-2022)
