This research aimed to investigate the notion of foreigner in the work ‘Moses and Monotheism’, by Sigmund Freud and its possible developments in the relationship between identity and otherness. It started from the study of the context in which the work was written, went through the construction of the text and some of the concepts worked in it. It landed to the topic of the foreigner and identity and their relationships and reactions with the other, which can culminate in hatred or in openness to the difference
