Resumo: This research provided an analysis of the perception of transsexual users regarding the care received by them in relation to Social Work during their sex change process by the Unified Health System. As for the knowledge of sex change, it can be said that from the entry of these subjects in the process of sex change, there are many social and emotional conflicts, which can accompany them throughout their lives. An attendance by trained and licensed social workers regarding the care of the T population, makes all the difference during the sex change process and even to legitimize the individual's identity. Results obtained through interviews and survey of data collected from the mapping of places that provide services to the LGBTQIA + population, were able to clarify some important points such as self-knowledge with possibilities to improve self-esteem, self-image, and opportunities to change the quality of life. In addition, it can be observed that an inappropriate service can result in delaying or even giving up on the sex change process
