Resumo: This study, the result of a literary, historical and theological study of a text of the Exodus book 2,15c-22d, aims to concentrate, in a special way, the characteristics that are assigned to the character, which takes center stage history. The Ex 2,15c-22d narrative brings the listener-reader, scenes and characters involved in a surprising plot. Depending on this, emerges with great role Moses' character, which, throughout the narrative, restless and asks the listener-reader with their behavior. Thus, the narrative presents some moral models that can be assimilated or not the listener-reader. In addition, the research focuses on some other elements that make up the narrative, namely: geographical and historical-archaeological, especially as regards the location of Midian, where will develop the whole narrative studied here. Want with what the listener-reader seek a better understanding of the context in which the story takes place. In addition, the plot details are studied and how the narrator's voice intertwines with the direct and intense speeches of the characters, along with Moses, assume prominence in different parts of the narrative. Finally, it is expected to discover in the text lines narrated, theological reflection that emerges from it
