Resumo: The purpose of this thesis is to study the process of building of poetical images in some sonnets, of the book Charneca em flor , of Florbela Espanca. The Portuguese poet is chronological inserted in the Modernism, however, its poetry if presents with hybrid elements that direct in them for some aesthetic-literary sources. Florbela Espanca is a poet sui generis , that is, it possess a proper sort. From this oscillation of style, we come across in them with the investigation: How Florbela Espanca sculptures the image in its poetry? To answer to this question, we formulate the hypothesis of that the image in the poetry of Florbela Espanca, dialogues with some source aesthetic-literary, configuring a hybrid style, that points with respect to a singular expressiveness. Our study was based on the proposals of Octávio Paz, Maurice-Jean Lefebve. How much the critical richness many are the scholars, support in the studies carried through for Maria Lucia Dal Farra, Claudia Pazos Alonso, Natália Correia and Jose Régio, among others. This thesis is composed in three chapters: The first one points out Florbela Espanca in Portuguese Literature, with biographical notes of the woman and of the poet and, after that, it points out the poet, by means of the critical one. As it approaches the image, as resource that if configures in aesthetic the literary ones, especially in the poetry of the poet. The third chapter is dedicated to the analysis of the sonnets: Realidade, Versos de Orgulho, Ser Poeta and A voz da tília.
